trxlook(1M) trxlook(1M)
NAME
trxlook - create readable extracts of a tracex measurement
SYNOPSIS
/opt/SItracex/bin/trxlook [parmfile [asciitrace]]
DESCRIPTION
The trxlook program evaluates the asciitrace ASCII log file of a tra-
cex measurement converted using trxout(1M), and displays this evalua-
tion on standard output.
In doing this, the logged event numbers are replaced by symbolic
names. In the case of time specifications, milliseconds are separated
from microseconds by a period. Decimal parameters of logged measure-
ment points are converted to hexadecimal format.
A parmfile parameter file can be created using the trxparm(1M) pre-
program that allows trxlook to select a subset of measurement data
only from an ASCII log file.
If such a parameter file is specified, asciitrace can be specified as
a second argument. Otherwise trxlook expects the ASCII log file in
standard input.
NOTES
Using the trxindx(1M) preprocessor, the runtime of trxlook for large
asciitrace ASCII log files can be improved considerably. It creates an
asciitraceind index file that links the measurement time with the log
file offset.
Detailed instructions and, in particular, a description of all meas-
urement points (events) known to tracex, as well as the format of the
files, can be found in the /home/tracex/doc/trxman00 file.
