trxiostat(1M) trxiostat(1M)
NAME
trxiostat, trxsys - input/output evaluation of a tracex measurement
SYNOPSIS
/opt/SItracex/bin/trxsys
/opt/SItracex/bin/trxiostat
DESCRIPTION
trxiostat is an evaluation program that analyzes the input/output
behavior of a process, creates extensive statistics, and outputs them
to standard output.
The asciitrace ASCII log file created by trxout(1M) serves as input.
This must first, however, have been filtered using the trxsys program.
Both programs (trxsys and trxiostat) can be linked together by means
of a pipe.
The following call is recommended:
trxsys < asciitrace | trxiostat
NOTES
It is recommended to redirect the trxiostat output to a file.
If statistics are to be created for only a relatively small number of
PIDs, it is recommended that you execute an appropriate search command
(grep) on asciitrace and link this with trxsys by means of a pipe.
Detailed instructions and, in particular, a description of all meas-
urement points (events) known to tracex, as well as the format of the
files, can be found in the /home/tracex/doc/trxman00 file.
