tns_stop(1) — Commands
NAME
tns_stop − Stops the TNS server and it’s related processes
SYNOPSIS
tns_stop
DESCRIPTION
The tns_stop command is used to disable the TeMIP Name Service (TNS) server on a system. A TNS server stores and maintains information about TeMIP entities in a highly available, distributed, and replicated database. When a server is disabled, operation of some or all of the TeMIP directors in the management network may become degraded or stopped unless the TeMIP entity information has been replicated on one or more other, available, TNS servers.
On successful completion of the tns_stop command, all the tns_adv, tns_clerk, tnscp, tnscl, tns_cml, and tns_server processes are halted. The TNS server associated resources (semaphores, shared memory and temporary files) are removed. The tns_stop command also stops the TNS clerk.
RESTRICTIONS
tns_stop can only be run under super-user.
