tns_clerk_stop(1) — Commands
NAME
tns_clerk_stop − Stops the TNS clerk and it’s related processes
SYNOPSIS
tns_clerk_stop
DESCRIPTION
The tns_clerk_stop command is used to disable the TeMIP Name Service (TNS) clerk on a system. The TNS clerk is the interface between TeMIP and TNS servers. When the clerk is disabled, TeMIP will not be able to communicate with any TNS server.
On successful completion of the tns_clerk_stop command, all the tns_adv, tns_clerk, tnscp, tnscl, and tns_cml processes are halted. The TNS clerk associated temporary files are removed.
It is not normally necessary to issue the tns_clerk_stop command directly. This is normally only needed after using the temip_stop command to shut down TeMIP before installing a new version of the TeMIP Name Service clerk software.
RESTRICTIONS
tns_clerk_stop can only be run under super-user.
tns_clerk_stop will print a warning if the clerk is not running.
tns_clerk_stop can only be run if there are no TNS server processes running on the system. To stop all the TNS clerk and server procesess use the tns_stop command.
