RC.X(8x) COMMAND REFERENCE RC.X(8x) NAME rc.X - command script for X window auto-reboot For 4310, 4320, and 4330 series UTek products. SYNOPSIS /etc/rc.X DESCRIPTION The program rc.X is the command script controlling the automatic reboot for the X window system. When an automatic reboot is in progress, rc.X is invoked by /etc/rc; rc.X then checks for the file /etc/X.conf; if the file exists the program xstart(8x) is invoked and uses the stored values in the X.conf file to start the proper X server and create console and login windows using the proper options. If the file /etc/X.conf does not exist, the program xconfig(8x) is called to create the file before executing the xstart(8x) program. Control is then returned to /etc/rc. FILES X.conf(5x) This file is created by xconfig(8x) and is used by xstart(8x) so that a record is kept of the X window configuration from one boot to the next. rc(8) Command script for system automatic reboot and daemons SEE ALSO xconfig(8x), xstart(8x).
