SPELLIN(1) COMMAND REFERENCE SPELLIN(1)

NAME
spellin - add words to spelling list

SYNOPSIS
     spellin [ list ]

DESCRIPTION
Spellin adds the words on the standard input (one per line)
to the preexisting list and places a new list on the
standard output. If no list is specified, the new list is
     created from scratch.

EXAMPLES
Assuming new_words contains a list of words one per line,
the following example will add these words to the spelling
list in the file /usr/dict/hlista (provided the user has
     write permission on /usr/dict/hlista).

          cp /usr/dict/hlista /tmp/hlista
          spellin /tmp/hlista <new_words >/usr/dict/hlista

FILES
     /usr/dict/hlista Hashed spelling list, American

     /usr/dict/hlistb Hashed spelling list, British

     /usr/dict/hstop Hashed stop list

RETURN VALUE
     [NO_ERRS] Command completed without error.

[P_ERR] A system error occurred. Execution
                    terminated. See intro(2) for more
                    information on system errors.
