DBM469X(5) COMMAND REFERENCE DBM469X(5) NAME dbm_469X, dbm_4692, dbm_4693D, dbm_4696 - GRF data base files for Tektronix Color Printers SYNOPSIS /usr/lib/tcpr/dbm4692 /usr/lib/tcpr/dbm4693D /usr/lib/tcpr/dbm4696 DESCRIPTION The screen copy utilities xgrf (x_grf(1)), and stgrf (st_grf(1)) use the /usr/lib/tcpr/dbm_469X files to map command line printer options to Generic Raster Format (GRF) tags and value fields. These tags compose the GRF header in the image file queued for printing. For further information on GRF headers and tags, see grf(5). Three Tektronix color printers are supported by these data base files: the Tektronix 4692, 4693D, and 4696. Each entry in a dbm_469X file consists of multiple lines with four fields: a GRF tag-name, a set of tag-values, a command line option and help message information. Fields are separated by the colon character(:). The GRF tag-name is a tag entered in the GRF header for the image file being converted from X Windows System or Smalltalk format into GRF format. The GRF tag is generated when the corresponding command line option is entered by the user. This field is required. The tag-value field contains multiple values separated by the (|) character. Each tag-value can consist of up to three parts. If the first character is the (*) character, then the tag-value is a processing(1) option that invokes the processing command on the GRF image file when it is spooled. Processing performs enhanced image processing such as dithering (see tcprdither(5)) on an image file. The next part of the field represents the GRF tag-value to supply with the GRF tag-name in the GRF header. If this field is followed by the (;) character, an optional field must be supplied. This represents the command line option argument that will generate the tag-value. If this field is missing, the tag-value is used as the command line option argument. Any symbol in the tag-value field surrounded by the @ character is designated by the system as a keyword. The system recognizes two valid keywords that can be used as placeholders in the tag-value field. They are: @color@ Any valid color can be used for the symbol in the tag-value field. DBM469X(5) COMMAND REFERENCE DBM469X(5) @index@ Any valid color map index can be used for the symbol in the tag-value field. The command line option field contains a single character. This is the command line option letter necessary to generate the GRF tag-name and value in the GRF header. The help message field contains a character string enclosed in double quotes (") that is used to generate help messages for the xgrf and stgrf utilities when the -h option is given. The (#) character is the comment character. All characters following and including the comment character are ignored until the newline character is read. The (\) character is used for two purposes: 1) Escape any other special characters so they will not be interpreted. 2) Continue an entry on a new line. Any entry terminated with the (\) character followed by the newline character is continued on the next line. EXAMPLES The following example shows the entry in the file /usr/lib/tcpr/dbm_4693D necessary to invoke black and white pixel inversion by the processing command rather than by the 4693D color printer. The example also shows how the none command argument is translated into the GRF tag-value pass. The (*) character marks the local GRF tag-value to invoke processing. invert_bw:pass;none|invert|*local|*@color@=@color@|default\ :I:"enable/disable inversion of black and white" The example is invoked by the command: xgrf -I local The system would also recognize a command containing -I red=blue by using the @color@ keyword as a placeholder. The labels red and blue would have to be defined colors for the xgrf or stgrf utility.
