NAME

install_showrev − install OpenWindows version information

DESCRIPTION

The install_showrev command is invoked by the install_openwin(8) command to install version information for the OpenWindows system.  This version information (along with the version information of other installed software) is displayed by the showrev(1) command. 

NOTES

The install_openwin command must be run as the superuser and requires that the environment variable OPENWINHOME be set to the installed location for OpenWindows. 

The showrev command is available in release 4.1.1 and later of SunOS.

The file that defines the OpenWindows version number

$OPENWINHOME/bin/xview/ttsession
The ToolTalk program used to determine the ToolTalk version number.
