nfsd(1M) —
NAME
nfsd, biod − NFS daemons
SYNOPSIS
/etc/nfsd [ nservers ]
/etc/biod [ nservers ]
DESCRIPTION
The nfsd daemon starts the NFS server daemons that handle client file system requests. nservers is the number of file system request daemons to start. This number should be based on the load expected on this server.
The biod, run on an NFS client, starts nservers asynchronous block I/O daemons, which do read-ahead and write-behind of blocks from the client’s buffer cache.
