SETKBMAP(1M) SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION COMMANDS SETKBMAP(1M)

NAME
setkbmap - set the keyboard mapping table

SYSNOPSIS
     /usr/sony/bin/setkbmap -f unix_name { -r | country }

DESCRIPTION
setkbmap sets the keyboard mapping table which was used by
the console of the NEWS bitmap display, to the keymap which
     is specified by country.

This command is used to set the table of kernel file
(unix_name) for another country, after the reconfiguration
of the system or when the diskless machine is installed.

-f option specify the unix_name that has the table to be
set. Default kernel for system boot is /stand/unix.

After the setting table is completed, reboot the system with
     this unix_name.

The selectable country is one of the followings:

           keymap country
         --------------------------------------------------------
           JAPAN : japanese or Japanese
           U.S. : us_english or US_English
           GERMANY : german or German
           FRANCE : french or French
           U.K. : uk_english or UK_English
           ITARIA : italian or Italian
           SPAIN : spanish or Spanish
           SWEDEN : swedish or Swedish
           DENMARK : danish or Danish
           NORWAY : norwegian or Norwegian
           PORTUGAL : portuguese or Portuguese
           FINLAND : finnish or Finnish

For details on the each keymap, refer to NWM-660 "NEWS-OS
     Release 5.0 User's Guide".

-r displays the keymap (country) of the unix_name which is
     specified with the -f option.

NOTICE
Once the wrong keymap is used, the key input will be very
involved after the system is rebooted, because the keytop
and internal code is not corresponded. Be careful!!

                                                                1
