NAME
xscn − image reader driver for X11
SYNOPSIS
xscn [ −dir path ] [ −dev dev_file ] [ −sound switch ] [ −endsound sound_file ] [ −errsound sound_file ] [ −display display ] [ −geometry geometry ]
DESCRIPTION
xscn is a tool for checking, saving and printing images scanned by the NWP-534/540/548 while reading them in.
OPSIONS
−dir path
specifies the directory in which scn(1), run from within the xscn program, exists. The default directory for the program scn(1) is assumed to be /usr/sony/bin.
−dev dev_file
specifies the device file which is opened by scn(1) called in xscn command. The default device file for monochrome image readers NWP-534/540 is /dev/ir. The default device file for color image reader NWP-548 is /dev/scsi06.
−sound switch
xscn can play sounds at the end of image reading or at error using audio interface. This option specifies whether if enables or inhibits the sounds by on or off. The default is on.
The sounds are played by the host machine which the image reader is connected to.
−endsound sound_file
specifies the sound file which is played at the end of image reading.
−errsound sound_file
specifies the sound file which is played when error occurs.
−geometry geometry
specifies the size and location of the top level window.
−display display
specifies the connection to the X server. See X(1).
DEFAULTS
xscn loads a resource file when it runs. The default options in the file are listed here.

The default values in the resource file may be changed.
OPERATIONS
Pointer operations: All operations are performed using the left mouse button.
Pull-down menus:
Execution Menu
This menu can be used to display all parameter settings made with the dialog window, display images on the screen, send output to the printer, save images in a file, and quit the program.
Frame Menu
This menu can be used to move and resize the segment area when moving, resizing, or segmenting the area for reading in images.
When this menu is selected, the size of the image area will be changed. Select the desired size and/or location of the area by clicking the left mouse button.
