NAME
     flushCache - remove all desktop type or layout cache entries

SYNOPSIS
     /usr/lib/desktop/flushCache [types | layouts]

DESCRIPTION
     In order to improve performance, the IRIX Interactive Desktop
     automatically maintains a cache of ftr types and layouts for all of the
     directories that are viewed with fm or dirview.  The flushCache shell
     script can be used remove all directory-related cache files (the
     background, default, and URL layout files are not removed).  Since
     /usr/lib/desktop/flushCache is a shell script, users can copy and modify
     it to suit their own particular needs.

ARGUMENTS
     flushCache accepts one of the following arguments:

     types   causes the ftr type caches to be removed.

     layouts causes saved fm layouts to be removed.

EXAMPLE
     For example, the following command could be executed via a crontab entry
     to flush the layout cache:

     /usr/lib/desktop/flushCache layouts

FILES
     $HOME/.desktop-<hostname>/TypeCache
          directory containing cached ftr types

     $HOME/.desktop-<hostname>/layouts
          directory containing saved fm layouts
