mkconspw(LM) 19 June 1992 mkconspw(LM) Name mkconspw - add server name and password to filesharing conspw (client password file) Syntax mkconspw [server name] [passwd] Description The mkconspw command adds the server machine name and password to the client password file /usr/lib/lm/conspw. When a local user uses the net- work, the local system attempts to establish a trusted connection with the server machine. Only XENIX-NET servers allow trusted access. The client sends its own machine name to the server, along with the pass- word contained in the /usr/lib/lm/conspw file entry for that server. The XENIX-NET server then checks its file /usr/lib/xnet/cdf for the client's machine name and password. If the client's machine name and password are contained in the server's /usr/lib/xnet/cdf file, the client is allowed trusted access. Use a text editor to remove a server name and password from the conspw file. If mkconspw is invoked without arguments, the user is prompted for the information. Files /etc/mkconspw /usr/lib/lm/conspw See also conspw(LM) Notes For changes to the password file to take effect, the client must be stopped and restarted.
