NAME

hps_reset − reset MVME338 host adapter

SYNOPSIS

hps_reset [ −d device ]

DESCRIPTION

Hps_reset issues a hardware reset command to the MVME338 host adapter board.  If the MVME338 raw driver supports it, this command will also reset the driver. 
 

OPTIONS

The following option may be selected:

−dSet device file name.  This option overrides the default device name of /dev/xedt/mvme338_c0. 

EXAMPLES

Reset the default host adapter:

 hps_reset
 

Reset the second host adapter in the system:

 hps_reset -d /dev/xedt/mvme338_c1

WARNINGS

Use this command with great caution.  All activity on the MVME338 board should be stopped and no processes should be waiting on the board when this command is issued.  For instance, MVME338 ports on the board must not be login enabled.
