mvme338 − MVME338 controller raw interface

DESCRIPTION

The /dev/xedt/mvme338_c∗ device files define, for the host computer, the interface to MVME338 host adapters.  For each MVME338 host adapter installed in the host computer, there must be a /dev/xedt/mvme338_c∗ device created to allow communication between the host computer and the host adapter board. 
 
To allow for future expansion, there may be more /dev/xedt/mvme338_c∗ files than there are host adapters. 
 
The /dev/xedt/mvme338_c∗ device file corresponding to a respective host adapter is used as an argument in many of the utility programs associated with the MVME338 product line. The device files are named /dev/xedt/mvme338_c0 for the first MVME338 host adaptor, /dev/xedt/mvme338_c1 for the second host adaptor, and so forth.
