NAME
wall - Writes to all users
SYNOPSIS
/etc/wall
DESCRIPTION
The wall command writes a message to all users currently logged in to the
system. The wall command reads its stdin until an end-of-file character
(the <Ctrl-D> sequence) is read. It then sends the input as a message,
preceded by the following, to all currently logged-in users:
Broadcast Message from user (device) on sys_name date...
The wall command is used to warn all users about such things as shutting
down the system.
The sender must be superuser to override any protections the users may
have invoked (see mesg).
