NAME
verifystring - Updates the /etc/.snmp_comm file with new private MIB
community string
SYNOPSIS
/usr/ip32/snmp/verifystring
DESCRIPTION
The verifystring command updates the /etc/.snmp_comm file with the new
private MIB community string. The user is prompted to enter the new
private community string, and then prompted to re-enter the string. Both
input strings must match, or the user is prompted to enter the strings
again. User input is not echoed as it is keyed in.
This command supports the snmpconfig utility.
EXAMPLES
The following interactive example run from the Community String
Information utility results in a successful string entry:
Enter new private community string : private
Re-enter new private community string : private
Community string updated.
Press RETURN to continue
FILES
/etc/.snmp_comm Private MIB view community string.
NOTES
The verifystring command is not intended to be executed outside the
snmpconfig utility.
DIAGNOSTICS
Community strings don't match. Try again.
The inputs entered at the first and second strings do not match.
EXIT VALUES
The verifystring command exits with a value of 0 if successful. It exits
with a value of 1 if unable to modify the private community string.
