NAME

iosetup − SICL interface configuration program.

SYNOPSIS

iosetup [-e<num>] [-m<model>] [-aa<addr>] [-ba<addr>] [-ai<irq>] [-bi<irq>]

DESCRIPTION

Iosetup may only be run by the super-user.  It is an X-windows application to configure interfaces for use with SICL.  It also builds SICL and interface drivers into the kernel.

The parameter definitions follow.

e<num>
num is the number of EISA slots on your system.  If you have an EISA extender so that the number of slots on your system is not the default, specify the number of EISA slots using this option.

m<model>
iosetup uses the ’uname -m’ command to determine the system model number. On some systems (i.e. the 748), ’uname -m’ returns a different model number.  Use this option to specify your machine type if uname does not specify it correctly.

aa<addr>, ba<addr>, ai<irq>, bi<irq>
The port addresses and IRQ’s for the RS-232 serial ports are set to defaults.  On some systems, these defaults may not work.  If this is the case, determine what the RS-232 port addresses and irq’s are for each serial port, and set them using the command line options.  -aa and -ai set Port A’s address and IRQ, and -ba and -bi set Port B’s address and IRQ.
