NETTRSTOP(1M) — Series 300 and 800 Only
NAME
nettrstop − halt link level tracing
SYNOPSIS
/usr/bin/nettrstop [ -p ]
DESCRIPTION
Nettrstop stops network tracing to the kernel buffer. Any tracing to a file also stops. The kernel buffer is deallocated. If you have not saved trace packets to a file by executing either of the commands, nettrstart -f filename or nettrdump > filename, you will lose all trace information when nettrstop deletes the contents of the kernel buffer.
Only the super-user may use this command.
Parameters
−p Link level tracing halts, but the kernel buffer is preserved. Nettrdump can then be used to extract data from the kernel. Nettrstop must be executed again without the -p option to deallocate the kernel buffer and allow tracing to be restarted. Default: Kernel buffer is deallocated.
DIAGNOSTICS
Usage: nettrstop [ -p ]
Illegal invocation of nettrstop
Network tracing has not been started
