meta-ascii(5) meta-ascii(5)

NAME
     meta-ascii - ISO 8859-1 character set

DESCRIPTION
The ISO 8859-1 code is an 8-bit code which represents a real superset
of the ASCII code and contains most of the metacharacters used in the
     European language area.

The ASCII table assignment in ascii(5) is valid for the code assign-
ment of 0 - 127 base 10. The following tables specify the assignment
     for the 128 base 10 - 255 base 10 code area.
