NAME
agestring - create password aging information for entries in
     /etc/yppasswd

SYNOPSIS
     /usr/sbin/agestring moddate maxweeks minweeks

DESCRIPTION
The agestring command produces aging information for entries in the
/etc/yppasswd file on the network administration host. This informa-
tion specifies the length of time that a global user's password will
remain valid. The user must renew the password using the yppasswd(1M)
command, at the latest when it has expired.

The aging information is made up as follows:

moddate Date when the password was last changed in days since 1
January 1970. If 0 is given, agestring calculates the
value using the current day's date.

maxweeks Maximum number of weeks that a password remains valid
following the last date on which it was changed. The
user must change his/her password using yppasswd(1M)
once this time period has expired.

minweeks Minimum number of weeks that a password remains valid
following the last date on which it was changed. The
user must not change the password until this time
                    period has expired.

agestring converts the entries for aging information to a character
string and sends this to standard output.

The character string must then be inserted in the required user entry,
directly following the encrypted password and separated by a comma.

The passwd NIS maps must then be generated again.
