     NAME
insc - AViiON family SCSI adapter subsystem

     DESCRIPTION
The insc SCSI (Small Computer System Interface) adapter
subsystem consists of an integrated SCSI adapter which
links the host system bus to the SCSI bus. Insc is the SCSI
interface used in the AViiON 300 workstations.

Devices on the SCSI bus are accessed through the SCSI
adapter. As a result, the SCSI adapter name must in be
included in a SCSI device specification. An insc SCSI
adapter is specified in the form:

             insc@n(addr)

where n is the hexadecimal device code of the controller,
and addr is the control space starting address for the
          controller.

The insc adapter will attempt to use the SCSI synchronous
data transfer protocol with each device on the SCSI bus. If
negotiation for synchronous transfer fails, the asynchronous
          mode will be used.
