The BeOS currently supports MP3, AIFF, WAV, and Sun/NeXT audio (and MIDI, though that's not a sound format, strictly speaking).
It is possible, even easy, for developers to create modules that plug into the Translation Kit which enable the BeOS system and applications to use a wide variety of data formats. So more formats will likely be added to the list.
