AUTO(1prom) RISC/os Reference Manual AUTO(1prom)

NAME
auto - initiate operating system autoboot sequence

SYNOPSIS
     auto

DESCRIPTION
The PROM Monitor auto command initiates the two-level
operating system autoboot sequence. Once initiated, this
sequence waits for about 20 seconds. During this delay, you
can abort the autoboot sequence by typing a CONTROL-C on the
console or you can speed the boot process by pressing the
ENTER key on the keyboard. When the delay expires, the pro-
gram specified by the PROM Monitor environment variable
bootfile is loaded and passed the current environment.
