NAME
     volcopy - make literal copy of file system

SYNOPSIS
     /etc/volcopy [ options ] fsname srcdevice volname1 destdev-
     ice volname2

DESCRIPTION
     volcopy makes a literal copy of the file system using a
     blocksize matched to the device.  options are:

     -a   invoke a verification sequence requiring a positive
          operator response instead of the standard 10 second
          delay before the copy is made

     -s   (default) invoke the DEL if wrong verification
          sequence.

     The program requests length and density information if it is
     not given on the command line or is not recorded on an input
     tape label.  If the file system is too large to fit on one
     reel, volcopy will prompt for additional reels.  Labels of
     all reels are checked.  Tapes may  be mounted alternately on
     two or more drives.  If volcopy is interrupted, it will ask
     if the user wants to quit or wants a shell.  In the latter
     case, the user can perform other operations and return to
     volcopy by exiting the new shell.

     The fsname argument represents the mounted name (e.g.:
     root, u1, etc.)  of the filsystem being copied.

     The srcdevice or destdevice should be the physical disk sec-
     tion or tape (e.g.:  /dev/dsk/cld0s8, /dev/rdsk/cld1s8,
     etc.).

     The volname is the physical volume name (e.g.:  pk3, t0122,
     etc.)  and should match the external label sticker.  Such
     label names are limited to six or fewer characters.  Volname
     may be - to use the existing volume name.

     srcdevice and volname1 are the device and volume from which
     the copy of the file system is being extracted.  destdevice
     and volname2 are the target device and volume.

     fsname and volname are recorded in the last 12 characters of
     the superblock (char fsname[6], volname[6];).

WARNINGS
     Volcopy does not support tape-to-tape copying.  Use dd(1M)
