iul − indicate underlining

SYNOPSIS

iul [ file ...  ]

DESCRIPTION

This filter provides the same function as the indicateul option of ex (VI) breaking underlining onto separate lines as dashing with ‘−’.  It is handy when you want to look at the underlining which is present in an nroff output stream on a soft-copy terminal.  A typical usage of iul would be nroff −ms pcxin1.n | iul

BUGS

Overstriking is lost.  The program colcrt has all of the features of iul, so that iul is superfluous is some sense.  Iul is, however, much more efficient that colcrt.
