WALL — User Commands
NAME
wall − write to all users
SYNOPSIS
wall [ −v ] [ -l ] [ -r ]
−vVerbose: inform the user whether or not each machine successfully received the message.
−lLocal: Only inform users on the local host.
−rNo rlogins: Only write to /dev/syslog on each machine, not rlogins.
DESCRIPTION
Wall reads its standard input until an end-of-file. It then sends this message, preceded by ‘Broadcast Message ...’, to the syslog window and all rlogins on each machine. If the -l option is specified, only users on the local host are notified. If the -r option is specified, only syslog windows are written to. The −v option will inform the user whether or not each machine successfully received the message.
