LFSREBUILD — User Commands
NAME
lfsrebuild − Rebuild a lfs file system.
SYNOPSIS
lfsrebuild [options] deviceName
OPTIONS
−blockSize izeBlock size of file system.
−superBlockOffset offset
Offset into device of the superBlock.
−dumpPrint out a description of the file system.
−showDirLogPrint out the directory operation log.
−fullPrint a full error analysis.
−verboseOutput progress messages during execution.
−oldcpUses old checkpoint (?). This flag makes lfscheck use the opposite checkpoint area from the one it would use otherwise.
−shownewPrint new metadata to stdout.
−doWritesWrite new metadata to disk.
DESCRIPTION
Lfsrebuild rebuilds the file system metadata such as the inode map and segment usage table by scanning the summary blocks on disk. It is intented to be run to recover from errors that destory the inode map or segment usage table.
BUGS
This program is one of Mendel’s private programs and has some bugs. In particular, it may mangle the file system. Even after a "successful" rebuild, there may be dangling files and directories.
