     malloc, free, realloc, calloc, alloca - general memory allocation
     operations

SYNOPSIS

DESCRIPTION
     These functions allocate and free memory for the calling process.  They
     are described in the individual manual pages.

STANDARDS
     These functions, with the exception of alloca() conform to ANSI
