HOSTNAME(1N) COMMAND REFERENCE HOSTNAME(1N)
NAME
hostname - set or print name of current host system
SYNOPSIS
hostname [ nameofhost ]
DESCRIPTION
The hostname command prints the name of the current host, as
given before the ``login'' prompt. The super-user can set
the hostname by giving an argument; this is done
automatically at startup by /etc/rc.net, using
netconfig(8n). The hostname is stored in /etc/network.conf
file.
If the hostname is changed, shutdown(8) the system and bring
it back to multi-user again to restart the network daemons.
