PCNFSD(8) COMMAND REFERENCE PCNFSD(8) NAME pcnfsd - daemon to provide user authentication and spooled printer services to PC-NFS clients SYNOPSIS /etc/pcnfsd [ spool directory ] DESCRIPTION The daemon pcnfsd runs continuously on a server system in order to serve PC-NFS client requests for user authentication and print spooling. The server system usually activates pcnfsd at system startup through an entry in the /etc/rc file. Note that it is not necessary to run pcnfsd in order to act as an NFS server to a client running PC-NFS. However, users on such a client machine are interpreted by the server as user nobody, having extremely limited privileges; user nobody would not be able to use printer spooling services on the server. OPTIONS spool directory Printer spool directory (default is /usr/spool/lp). The file system that contains this directory must be exported without any restrictions and must contain at least 100Kb of free space. SEE ALSO exports(5), rc(5). Printed 4/6/89 1
