NAME
     X.conf - nonvolatile storage for X window system
     configuration status

DESCRIPTION
     The X.conf file contains one enable line with the value
     "yes" or "no", one line with the X server and the flags to
     be passed to the X server, one line with the name of the
     terminal emulator and flags to be used for the console
     window, and one line with the name of the terminal emulator
     and flags to be used for the login window.

     The file X.conf is created and modified using the
     xconfig(8x10) program and is used by the xsystem(8x10)
     program.

     The first line of X.conf contains the word "yes" or "no"
     indicating whether or not the X window system should be
     started. If this line contains the word "no", the X window
     system will not be started during a reboot.

EXAMPLES
     The following is an example of an X.conf file:

          yes
          /etc/X  0 -v
          /bin/xterm  -n console -b 4 -sb =80x8+366+868
          /bin/xterm  -n login -b 4 =80x24+366+160

FILES
     /etc/X.conf

CAVEATS
     This file is for reading only and is maintained solely by
     xconfig(8x10).
