RMDEL(1SCCS) COMMAND REFERENCE RMDEL(1SCCS) NAME rmdel, rmchg, cdc - remove a delta from an SCCS file SYNOPSIS rmdel -rSID filename... DESCRIPTION Rmdel removes the delta specified by the SID from each named SCCS file. The delta to be removed must be the newest (most recent) delta in its branch in the delta chain of each named SCCS file. In addition, the specified must not be that of a version being edited for the purpose of making a delta (for example, if a p-filename (see get(1sccs)) exists for the named SCCS file, the specified must not appear in any entry of the p-filename). If a directory is named, rmdel behaves as though each file in the directory were specified as a named file. If a name of - (a dash) is given, the standard input is read; each line of the standard input is taken to be the name of an SCCS file to be processed. The exact permissions necessary to remove a delta are documented in the Source Code Control System User's Guide. Simply stated, the permissions are: if you make a delta you can remove it; or if you own the file and directory you can remove a delta. OPTIONS -rSID Uniquely identifies which delta is to be removed. EXAMPLES The following example removes 1.3 delta from the file s.foo.c: rmdel -r1.3 foo.c FILES x-file (See delta(1sccs)) z-file (See delta(1sccs)) DIAGNOSTICS Use sccshelp(1sccs) for explanations. CAVEATS Non-SCCS files and unreadable files are silently ignored. SEE ALSO delta(1sccs), get(1sccs), sccshelp(1sccs), prs(1sccs), and sccsfile(5sccs). Printed 4/6/89 1
