SPELLIN(1) COMMAND REFERENCE SPELLIN(1) NAME spellin - add words to spelling list SYNOPSIS spellin [ list ] DESCRIPTION Spellin adds the words on the standard input (one per line) to the preexisting list and places a new list on the standard output. If no list is specified, the new list is created from scratch. EXAMPLES Assuming new_words contains a list of words one per line, the following example will add these words to the spelling list in the file /usr/dict/hlista (provided the user has write permission on /usr/dict/hlista). cp /usr/dict/hlista /tmp/hlista spellin /tmp/hlista <new_words >/usr/dict/hlista FILES /usr/dict/hlista Hashed spelling list, American /usr/dict/hlistb Hashed spelling list, British /usr/dict/hstop Hashed stop list RETURN VALUE [NO_ERRS] Command completed without error.
