CAL(1) COMMAND REFERENCE CAL(1)

NAME
     cal - print calendar

SYNOPSIS
     cal [month ] year

DESCRIPTION
Cal prints a calendar for the specified year. If a month is
also specified, a calendar just for that month is printed.
The month is a number between 1 and 12. Year can be between
1 and 9999. The calendar produced is a Julian calendar.

     Try September 1752.

EXAMPLES
The following example prints the calendar for 1983:

          cal 1983

This example prints the calendar for the current month:

          cal `date +%m` 19`date +%y`

RETURN VALUE
     [NO_ERRS] Command completed without error.

[USAGE] Incorrect command line syntax. Execution
                    terminated.

[NP_ERR] An error occurred that was not a system
                    error. Execution terminated.

CAVEATS
The year is always considered to start in January even
     though this is historically naive.

Beware that `cal 78' refers to the early Christian era, not
     the 20th century.
