REV(1) COMMAND REFERENCE REV(1) NAME rev - reverse lines of a file SYNOPSIS rev [ filename... ] DESCRIPTION Rev copies the named files to the standard output, reversing the order of characters in every line. If no file is specified, the standard input is copied. EXAMPLES In the following example, the lines in the file xxx will be reversed and written on standard output: rev xxx RETURN VALUE [NO_ERRS] Command completed without error. [P_ERR] A system error occurred. Execution terminated. See intro(2) for more information on system errors. CAVEATS Lines containing more than 256 characters will be truncated. SEE ALSO tail(1).
