DLAPY2 returns sqrt(x∗∗2+y∗∗2), taking care not to cause unnecessary overflow. 
 

ARGUMENTS

X       (input) DOUBLE PRECISION
Y       (input) DOUBLE PRECISION X and Y specify the values x and y.
