DEFAULT_LINKS(1) — USER COMMANDS
NAME
default_links − build symbolic links in /usr/bin for XView or SunView
SYNOPSIS
default_links [ −h ] [ −m ] [ −ddirname ] [ filenames ]
DESCRIPTION
default_links creates symbolic links in /usr/bin for the programs in dirname. If the user specifies filenames then only those programs in dirname will have a symbolic link in /usr/bin. Otherwise, all programs in dirname will have symbolic links in /usr/bin. WARNING: For SunOS 4.0 systems default_links will move the SunView tools into /usr/bin/sunview1 first.
An old symbolic link of the same name in /usr/bin will be removed first. If a file with the same name exists in /usr/bin and it is not a symbolic link, it is not removed and the new symbolic link is not created.
OPTIONS
−hInvokes the usage message.
−mInvokes a long introduction message.
−d dirnameSpecifies the directory to scan for programs. If the user does not specify this option, the default is /usr/bin/sunview1.
EXAMPLE
vertigo% default_links -d$OPENWINHOME/bin/xview
vertigo% default_links -d$OPENWINHOME/bin/xview cmdtool mailtool
vertigo% default_links -d/usr/bin/sunview1
The first command will create symbolic links in /usr/bin for all the programs in $OPENWINHOME/bin/xview. The second command will create symbolic links in /usr/bin only for $OPENWINHOME/bin/xview/{cmdtool,mailtool}. The third command will revert all symbolic links in /usr/bin back to SunView tools.
