oraenv(1LOCAL) MISC. REFERENCE MANUAL PAGES oraenv(1LOCAL)
NAME
oraenv - defines the environment required by the ORACLE
RDBMS
SYNOPSIS
exec oraenv
DESCRIPTION
The oraenv command file sets a common environment for all
Bourne shell users, and allows users to switch back and
forth between ORACLE databases. It eases the problems
encountered by system administrators and database adminis-
trators when they change the physical ORACLE system, by
automatically setting the ORACLE_SID, ORACLE_HOME, and PATH
environment variables. This file is analogous to the
coraenv command file, which is used with the C shell.
