OSSVRSHTD(8)  —  OBJECTSTORE COMMANDS

NAME

ossvrshtd − immediately shuts down a Server

SYNOPSIS

ossvrshtd [ -f ] hostname

DESCRIPTION

ossvrshtd shuts down immediately the Server running on the specified host. You must either be the super-user or be logged in as the uid of the owner of the osserver process to shut down the Server. Without the -f (force) argument, it asks you to confirm that you want to shut down the Server. Note that the Directory Manager is a client of the Server, and so should be shut down (see osdirshtd (1)) before the Server is shut down.

If the Server is run as root with authentication set to something other than NONE (authorization is SYS by default), ossvrshtd must be run as root. Otherwise, ossvrshtd will succeed if it is run by the same user who started the Server, or by the root user.

FILES

$OS_ROOTDIR/admin/ossvrshtd
