NAME

ossvrping − report whether a Server is responding to ping messages

SYNOPSIS

ossvrping [-v] hostname

DESCRIPTION

ossvrping reports whether the Server running on the specified host is responding to ping messages. For example:

% ossvrping elvis

elvis is alive

ossvrping defaults first to OS_SERVER_HOST, then to the local host.  The -v argument provides more information when it fails to contact the Server.
