NELOAD(8) — MAINTENANCE COMMANDS
NAME
neload − Interphase Network Coprocessor Loader
SYNOPSIS
neload [ −h ] [ −f object_file ] device
AVAILABILITY
This command is available from the Interphase Network Coprocessor (NC) software distribution. This command is specific to this product. For information about installing the NC software distribution, refer to the Network Coprocessor Installation Manual.
DESCRIPTION
neload downloads and boots the software that runs on the Network Coprocessor. The default object file that neload attempts to download and boot is /etc/OMNI/ne.dwnld. The object file to be downloaded can be moved to a different location in the file system. A different file name can then be specified in the parameter of the −f option. The Network Coprocessor software handles all of the network-related processing involved in the NFS file server function. In addition, it handles data link level processing for the remaining networking activities the server may be involved in (such as rlogin, rsh, RPC based programs other than NFS, etc.).
neload requires a device argument. This argument may be expressed in one of the following two forms: /dev/ne0 or ne0. Up to eight Network Coprocessor interfaces may be installed depending on the configuration of the system. Device names range from ne0 to ne7. For information on how many Network Coprocessors are supported on a given machine type and configuration, refer to the READ_ME_FIRST or RMF document packaged with your product.
OPTIONS
−f Use the next argument as the name of the binary file to download and execute on the Network Coprocessor. neload attempts to open and read the file given by this file name.
−h Print a help display on the usage of the command.
