NAME

makedev.omni, MAKEDEV.omni − make special files for Interphase Network Coprocessor

SYNOPSIS

/dev/MAKEDEV.omni device-name...

AVAILABILITY

This command is provided with the Interphase Network Coprocessor (NC) software distribution.  For information about installing the NC distribution, refer to the installationNetworkCoprocessor

DESCRIPTION

MAKEDEV.omni is a shell script used to install special files for the Interphase Network Coprocessor product.  It resides in the normal location for special files, the /dev directory. Arguments to MAKEDEV.omni are usually of the form device-name? where device-name is one of the supported devices listed in section 4 of the man pages and ‘?’ is a logical unit number (0-9). For information on how many Network Coprocessors are supported on a given machine type and configuration, refer to the Interphase NC READ_ME_FIRST or RMF document packaged with your product.

Since all devices are created using mknod(8), this shell script is useful only to the super-user.

DIAGNOSTICS

Either self-explanatory, or generated by one of the programs called from the script.
Use sh  -x  MAKEDEV.omni in case of trouble.
