PUBMAIL(1)

NAME

pubmail − E-mail a Publisher document or file

SYNOPSIS

pubmail document1 [document2...]

DESCRIPTION

Pubmail uses electronic mail to send a copy of the document or file specified.  If you are sending a Publisher document, it is converted to a file that can be sent by E-mail.  By default, the file is sent to the Customer Support team at ArborText, although you can specify a different recipient, if you prefer.  If the resulting file is over half a megabyte large, pubmail will terminate without sending it and print a message to the screen informing you of this.

To reconstitute a file or document sent with pubmail, first put the mail message in a file by itself.  Next, strip off the beginning of the file, down to and including the line that says "CUT HERE".  Then, use chmod to change the file permissions so that you have an executable file. Finally, execute the file name by typing it (as a command) at a system prompt.

Note: When you reconstitute a pubmail message, any existing files with the same names will be overwritten.  Therefore, before you reconstitute a file or document, be sure you know what files and directories will be created by doing so.

EXAMPLES

To E-mail the document monthlyreport to customer support at ArborText, type:

% pubmail monthlyreport

This converts the document to a mailable file and mails it to help@arbortext.com.
