NAME
bminfo: A program for inspecting bitmap image files that is distributed with The Publisher and The ADEPT Series.
SYNOPSIS
bminfo [-s | -c | -z ] [-n] image-name
DESCRIPTION
The program bminfo provides information on your bitmap image file. The program recognizes all graphics formats that are native to The ADEPT Series and The Publisher.
X11 OPTIONS
-sdisplays the graphic as well as providing information on the bitmap output file. To close the graphic window that appears, with the pointer in the window, type: q, or select close from the window’s left corner icon menu.
-cis the cropping option used with -s to generate cropping information when the -s window in resized. When the -c option is specified, a cropping box appears. Hold down the left mouse button to drag the upper-left corner of the cropping box. Hold down the middle mouse button and drag the lower-right corner to size the box. Click the right mouse button to write to standard output, the x, y, w, h cropping represented by the box.
-zis the zoom option. When the -z option is specified, a zoom box appears that can select part of the bminfo window. Selection operates the same as the cropping box described in the -c option above. Select the area you want enlarged, then click the right mouse button. The selected area fills the bminfo window. Reselecting zoom lets you enlarge the area several times to highly magnify it.
-nis the no-information option. It suppresses the normal information output describing all the characteristics of the bitmap file. It is intended to be used in conjunction with option -c to ease parsing of the cropping output.
image-name
is the bitmap output file.
EXAMPLES
To see your graphic and information on it, for a graphic called "mygraphic.tif," type:
bminfo -s mygraphic.tif
To generate cropping information for your graphic, follow the cropping instructions after typing:
bminfo -c -n mygraphic.tif
