NAME
mpeg_to_cell − MPEG-1 to Cell bitstream converter.
SYNOPSIS
mpeg_to_cell −i filename −o filename [ −v ] [ −h ]
DESCRIPTION
mpeg_to_cell is an XIL program that converts an MPEG-1 bitstream into a Cell bitstream. It does not actually use the SunVideo card. It merely uses XIL to decompress MPEG-1 frames and re-compress them as Cell frames.
While there are SunVideo molecules for CellB, there are none for Cell, so the SunVideo card cannot directly produce a full frame rate Cell bitstream. Cell is computationally asymmetric. Cell compression is much more compute-intensive than Cell decompression. Since the SunVideo card can capture MPEG-1 frames at full frame rates (if MPEG_RATE_CONTROL is FALSE), the mpeg_to_cell tool provides a method of producing a full frame rate Cell bitstream.

−i filename name of input MPEG-1 bitstream.
−o filename name of Cell output bitstream file.
−v verbose mode.
−h print help message.
