NAME

kcms_configure − Configure an X11 window system for use with the KCMS library

SYNOPSIS

kcms_configure [ −o ] [ −d display ] profile

AVAILABILITY

SUNWkcsrt

DESCRIPTION

kcms_configure configures an X11 window system for use with the KCMS library.

Configuration of the window system is only required to be performed if it has never been configured for use with KCMS, or if, once configured, the user changes the monitor attached to a particular frame buffer.  A window system is required to be running for kcms_configure to operate.

OPTIONS

-o Override the current configuration settings. By default kcms_configure will not overwrite an existing configuration.

-d display
Will configure an X11 display for use with KCMS. By default kcms_configure will configure the screen of the window from which the program is invoked. Use this option to configure a different screen on the same display. See the second example in the examples section.

For security reasons kcms_configure does not allow users to configure machines that they are not currently logged into.

EXIT STATUS

Upon successful execution kcms_configure will return 0 as an exit value. Failures will return a non zero value.

EXAMPLES

% kcms_configure -o kcmsEKsmccsony20

configures the screen of the window from which the program is invoked.

% kcms_configure -o -d machine:0.1 kcmsEKsmccsony20

configures screen 1 of machine for use with KCMS.
