NAME

bsmconv, bsmunconv − enable a Solaris system to use the Basic Security Module

SYNOPSIS

/etc/security/bsmconv
/etc/security/bsmunconv

DESCRIPTION

The bsmconv and bsmunconv scripts are used to enable or disable the BSM features from a Solaris system.  Both commands should only be run on a server or stand alone system and never on a diskless client.  These commands should only be used by the super-user and when the machine is in maintenance (single user) mode.

After running bsmconv the system can be configured by editing the files in /etc/security.

Following the completion of either script, the system should be rebooted to allow the auditing subsystem to be properly initialized.
