script − make typescript of a terminal session

script [ −a ] [ filename ]

DESCRIPTION

script makes a typescript of everything printed on your terminal.  The typescript is written to filename. If no file name is given, the typescript is saved in the file typescript. 

The script ends when the forked shell exits or when CTRL-D is typed. 

OPTIONS

−a Append the typescript to filename, rather than overwrite it.

NOTES

script places everything that appears on the screen in the log file, including prompts.
