NAME

viewopen − utility for programmatically controlling docviewer

SYNOPSIS

viewopen −a answerbook-id [ −l language ] hypertext-link

AVAILABILITY

viewopen is available as part of OpenWindows Version 3.1 and the Solaris 2.1 operating system. 

DESCRIPTION

viewopen takes a docviewer hypertext link and passes it to a running docviewer for execution. If no docviewer is running, viewopen starts one. 

OPTIONS

−a answerbook-id
Specify the id of the AnswerBook to be viewed.

−l language
Specify the preferred language for displaying documents.

DIAGNOSTICS

viewopen prints an error message on failure and returns non-zero exit status. 

NOTES

The docviewer hypertext link syntax is not documented. 

To run the viewopen command, include the directory containing the AnswerBook binaries (docviewer, viewprint, and so on) in your shell search path.
